Never let them tell you that Kogi and its ilk are LA’s only street food. Until they showed up, as far as I can tell, LA’s street food was 100% Hispanic-operated. It includes the pico de gallo/fruit carts, the ice cream pushcart guys, roving taco trucks and these guys — the bacon-wrapped hot dog people. Is it good for you? No. Is it healthy? No idea. But when I smell the onions grilling, I am a bit sorry to be a vegetarian.
